May Half Term Workshop
Tuesday 26 May
Through drawing, printmaking and mixed-media processes, children are encouraged to develop their own ideas, take creative risks and experience the satisfaction of making something from start to finish.
This studio-based workshop offers a calm, supportive space for children to work with real materials, develop practical skills and build confidence in their creativity.
For this workshop, children will be introduced to different printmaking techniques depending on their age and experience.
Older children will work with soft polymer lino, learning how to safely carve and create their own printing plates with guidance and close supervision.
Younger children will use cardboard and foam printing techniques, which allow them to explore the same ideas of design, pattern and layering without the need for carving tools.
This approach ensures that all children can take part in a way that is appropriate, safe and engaging, while still experiencing the creative process of printmaking.
