A calm, structured studio environment

Sessions take place in small groups in community spaces. Each session follows a clear rhythm so participants know what to expect, while still allowing space for curiosity and exploration.

The atmosphere is focused, welcoming, and unhurried.

Artist-led, process-focused sessions

All sessions are led by a practising artist and qualified teacher. Activities are designed around exploration, materials, and creative thinking rather than copying a set image or working towards an identical result.

There are no templates and no “right” outcomes.

Participants are supported to develop their own ideas and ways of working.

Shared process, individual outcomes

Everyone begins from the same place, but no two pieces develop in the same way. Participants are supported to make their own decisions and express ideas in ways that feel personal to them.

The aim is not to produce a particular result, but to build confidence in individual creative voice.

Materials and guidance provided

All materials are provided and carefully selected. Guidance is offered throughout the session, but participants are encouraged to make their own choices and follow their interests.

Support is responsive rather than directive.

Sessions allow time to test ideas, make mistakes, and revisit work. Finished pieces are not the focus. What matters is the process of thinking through making and developing confidence over time.

Participants are never rushed to complete a piece.

A note for parents and carers

Small group sizes allow sessions to be adapted to different needs and ways of working. If you would like to discuss whether a session is suitable for you or your child, you are very welcome to get in touch before booking.

This is not a traditional art class where everyone produces the same work. It is best suited to children who enjoy making, exploring, or working independently, as well as those who may lack confidence and benefit from a slower, more thoughtful approach.

Progress looks different for each child.

For teens and adults

Sessions offer a quiet, focused space to work with materials, develop ideas, and reconnect with creative practice. No prior experience is needed.

You do not need to “be good at art” to take part.

These sessions are for anyone who wants time to explore materials, think through making, and rediscover confidence in their own creative voice, without pressure to perform or produce a finished piece.
